Alone in the world

Bday rainbow

Happy Birthday to my dear brother whom is a wonderful human, hardworking, epic father and funny guy, from far away I wish to the stars you’re happy and well,

A rainbow showed up right after our phone call, meant to be for you.

Te quiero Nando.

Perdón que me fuí y no volví.

swimming in the middle of a Distant Island.

When it was my time to go in the water,  the sun wasn’t even out because a big cloud was covering its light, I swam towards the others while adjusting the snorkel and within seconds I saw the sharks swimming below me, they were in different levels, some seemed very distant and others way closer to us, a bunch of them.

PHOTOGRAPHY BY CULLEN MORRIS

I felt so little, so alone and so full of life at the same time, I was in the middle of an ocean I don’t know, with people I’ve never seen in my life surrounded by sharks and the immensity of the ocean. Not too long after we dove into the water, rain started to pour over us and a beautiful rainbow appeared on the horizon, sun was out but still kinda hidden in between clouds, it was so magical, it was too much! Way too much, I’m happy to share this moment with you all, I’m forever wishing to share these experiences with people I love but I’m too long gone, too far away.

Thank you Cullen Morris, he was part of the crew and he got to snap beautiful photos like the ones in this post. Can you believe these ?

I’m forever grateful for my health first of all, second grateful for being up to a challenge.

Gracias por leerme  and Aloha to you all,

Bomba.

DAGGER

“I’m gonna rip your heart out

and bury it in the sand,

so the ocean can take it away”

This is my self protection amulet, my weapon.

In a symbolic way, I wanna use this dagger for stealing someone’s heart and at the same time to protect myself from a broken heart.

I’ve carried this piece from New York to Los Angeles, California, I had it in my lap and sometimes under my seat on the plane, we made it to Laguna where I thought I would move for the winter but there were other plans cooking in the meantime.

I took my dagger to one of my favorite beaches there at Sunset time but I wasn’t happy with how it looked with the orange tones from the sunset and I had no time to try another day so I had to wait a couple months until I got to my final destination and felt good to light it up. Finally February reminded me I had to use it so I could finally cut your chest in half and rip your heart out…

“You make me smile” postcards

Wet on wet

It’s been rainy, it’s been wet and humid, the other day i went swimming under the rain, the waves were crazy but i go into the shallow by the beach, I felt amazing, almost afraid of being there with no one else around me.

one of my favorite days of last summer I was in the water a couple friends under the rain, there was still a ray of sunshine in the sky but mostly cloudy, heavy drops falling, then thunders, beautiful waves, it was so magical, we paddle back out to running away from lighting, it was awesome, i actually rode a wave for a few seconds and then I fell but that day is on the top of my list.

There’s something so beautiful about rain falling over the ocean,

do you agree?

love,

Bombi.

Tinys

I love this new tiny artworks I’ve paint, they’re 4”X4” I’m currently enjoying my time waking up very early in the am and painting in my porch or at a small gallery where I help.

I dream with a large studio where I can paint big “Distant Island” paintings and make neon artwork but for now I do whatever I can with what I have.

I hope you enjoy checking out my posts,

Teresa.

THE EDDIE AIKAU / waimea bay, biggest waves ive ever seen and i love the spray

#Aquanet #spray

Me and 2 of my best friends headed to watch one of the most epic surf contests ever and we were enjoying every minute of it.

These are the biggest waves I’ve ever seen in my life to be honest, they were amazing, beautiful, powerful.

I’m so grateful I was able to watch one of the best surfers in the world ride big waves, thank you life so much, it was EPIC! We found a spot by the road instead of getting at the crowded beach and we have binoculars so we watch the surfers close close.

Congratulations Luke Shepardson! #goosebumps

You can see the waves way back on the right side of the photo, believe it or not there was a couple guys surfing those, who were them? WOW

Blessed to have them in my life

Fell from the tree

I fell from the tree looking beautiful, you picked me up to adorn you, the clock started running faster and my time alive was ending soon, I lost my color and my core became weak, I’m sorry I couldn’t stay pretty longer but it was worth to see the ocean, I hope I made you smile while you admired me in your hands.

TSUNAMI

This wave changes every time I open my notebook and have paint handy, I wish I have images of how it got to here, it all started with a pencil, then i added some watercolor, pen and this last time was acrylic. Its a small wave but in my head it’s big big big so I named it “Tsunami”.

Look at the camera…

Esa mirada dice todo

pero al mismo tiempo calla.

Entre besos y sombras

Yo pinto memorias y recuerdos salados.

Sailing to kaneohe

I’m not the luckiest but once in a while I get a sprinkle of luck, this day I got that, I hope it lasts a little longer.

I saw corals like I’ve never seen before and I swam an ocean I’ve never thought I would, no fear.

Beach painting

“Pupukea bus ride”

11”x14”

Acrylic on paper

If you were seeing this painting anywhere, I don’t think you’d know I painted this, Is something I’ve never done before, I don’t usually use a lot of colors, I love using whites and lavenders with black so I’m surprised of how this one turned out because even tho is not even and is not perfect I do love all the weird elements in it, perhaps nothing really makes sense to you, the house it’s the main focus here, I feel like the inspiration comes from the houses I’ve seen while riding the bus on the route that goes on Kamehameha Highway by Pupukea on the North Shore, all the houses there are right by the ocean, some of them so old and unique, others more modern with asian accents, big and small and surrounded by plants and flowers and lots of palm trees, I guess I collected some of the details i’ve liked and dream about my ideal home. There’s me on the corner right below admiring the mountains and the waves. A clay vase I made, some flowers, a wave, more palm trees and overall just me exploring the brushes and the acrylic palette I have.
