I love palm trees and tropical flowers, plants and flowers overall, any kind. The challenge here is bigger than what I expected to be, try to imagine the real colors of these images.
Alone in the world
Rocks are underestimated
There is something about getting this far to this little place that makes you feel like you just reached the End of the world…
Love signs
I didn’t miss one single sunrise or sunset for 9 straight days, these photos here are for the first sunrise of my West Coast trip. I can’t believe there’s so much natural beauty in this life, I mean, look at those colors! I’m taking this moment to give thanks for having the opportunity to witness nature.
travels suspended
Hi guys,
I woke thinking about my adventures from last year and I had to to revive my road trip so I went to the Death Valley memories on my iPhone and oh la la, if you follow me for a little while now, you probably know how much I loved visiting Death Valley National Park, it was just so beautiful (and hot), I would never recommend enough. Is so nice to revive good times, thank god for technology huh?
The world is suffering and Mother Earth is angry with all of us, this is a sacred punishment that was sent to us and we need to acknowledge and must try to change for better and take care of ourselves and our planet. I’m really happy I was able to make this trip at that time, it was just right timing. I know things will get better someday and we’ll be okay if we take care of ourselves and others, really!, but in the meantime, no West Coast adventures until new notice, I had my trip planned to visit the PNW but travels are suspended. So all I have is my memories and trying to find new local adventures instead! Hey, i’m going to a Shark Dive next week and I can’t wait!!! Right on time for Shark Week.
Where are you traveling next in the US? What is your favorite National Park? When do you think we can travel again?
Light & Love,
Teresa.
Last stop and feeling JOYFUL
I hope someday I can inspire some of you to go somewhere by yourself. I know is a little weird going some places alone but is actually really good for your soul, every single time i’ve been on a trip, short or long, I get to connect more with myself and I come back home feeling really good, inspired, healthy, energized and with a lot of positive thoughts. I know a lot of people that never go out and never do anything fun because they need to be with someone else, you shouldn’t wait for anyone to go with you if you really want to, just book that ticket, rent a car or take the train! Make a list of places you want to visit and start planning.
My bucket list is long but i’ve crossed many things from it already and I will continue to do so as soon as is safe to travel. I really wanted to go to the PNW and visit other National Parks this summer but the pandemic happened, in the meantime, i’m planning my next adventure here in NY and that will be underwater… Stay tuned.
I’m sharing these photos I took in Davenport, California in 2019, this place was the last stop on my itinerary from my road trip, right after here I drove straight to the San José airport to fly back home in Brooklyn, NY. I hope you get the vibe,
Besos,
Teresa.
Escapadas: Montauk, The end of the world.
You might know or not that i’m terribly afraid to sharks but I also know the chances of getting bit by one are very low, hey I’ve seen Shark week! and other sharks documentaries, so I got into the water that day at Ditch Plains and I couldn’t even feel how cold it was because the adrenaline was so high! Honestly, I felt amazing, I can’t wait to go back to the water again.
Montauk is such a small town, so pretty, clean and really far away from the craziness of the city, is at the very end of Long Island, they call it “The end of the world”, this was my 4th time there. Sunset that day didn’t disappoint…
See you again soon.
Teresa.
Taking photos of roses, Fort Tilden.
escapadas: Robert Moses state park
Oh hiii! The other day I packed my beach essentials in a 99cents cooler and I went to Long Island for a beach day, I drove to Robert Moses State Park which is right next to the Fire Island National Seashore, so beautiful beaches, it took me around 40 minutes to get there from my home in Brooklyn.
I really enjoyed my beach time, I had time to read a book, think about love and life and had fun taking photos under the sun, I couldn’t go inside the water , it was cold and i’m just too afraid of sharks but I’m working on it and I promise this summer I will go deeper into the water. These are some snaps I captured. I went to another beach after, I will share those photos on a later post. Adiós.
Escape
Week #9
Hey!, I feel like I can’t do May, I wish we can skip this month and we can go straight to June so I can be outside and go to the beach on a sunny June day. * * * Update, last week of May got a little better, still craving for that Sunny June days tho * * *
I’m sharing this photo of this beautiful place in Big Sur, Ca., McWay falls! As you all probably know I live in New York and I love it, it’s been my home for the past 8 years but I also love California, in 2019 I spent a lot of time there. Mc Way falls was part of my itinerary from a road trip I did on September and it didn’t disappoint me, I got to this specific spot right before sunset, I felt like I wasn’t precisely there but on a different place, maybe in a “Distant Island” per se, is so amazing!
Going back to my travels photos, helps me so much when I feel a little down because I revive those moments and they make me remember how lucky I am sometimes for many reasons. I want to physycally escape somewhere away from here but I can’t right now so in the meantime i’m just mentally escaping to those places I adore like Big Sur.
Hasta pronto!,
Teresa.
"Tiny Human"
This is one of my favorite photos I took last year, I have so many great memories from my trips, i’m so thankful I was able to be present in this exact moment when the sun was about to set. This photo was taken in Santa Cruz, California, you can see a person there in the middle, he was the only surfer in this beach, he seemed focus and calm, It was a beautiful day, I can’t imagine that feeling of being in the middle of the ocean waiting and waiting and waiting for that opportunity to “ride that wave”, trying, again and again without getting drowned or without getting bit by a shark… I can’t express with more words but there’s so much more behind this image and this analogy, I just wanna say I hope you never stop trying and you ride great waves in your life.
I can’t wait to visit the West Coast again.
Be safe,
Teresa.
Hopefully very soon
The weather is now officially beautiful in New York! So I decided to ride a bike all the way to Dumbo from Williamsburg so I can see the water, feel the sun and workout a little bit, so much carbs these days, u know?
These times are really tough for all of us and nothing that I say or do is going to make a huge difference, but maybe you will enjoy these photos and see how much beauty there’s around us and forget what’s going on for 2 seconds. I truly believe we’re going to be fine, hopefully very soon.
Kiss,
Teresa.
"I see a distant horizon..."
As part of my new collection of artwork called “Distant Island”, i’m exploring and really enjoying painting with watercolor and acrylics, I’ve used diminutive reflective glass beads in these new series of paints that keeps my light attraction present. Some of these works will feature a neon piece as well. I see a distant horizon in a place i’ve never been present before but i’ve seen a version of it in past travels. I’m deeply inspired by the snow and the sunlight and the effect that creates, the isolation and the fear of being alone in a place away from home.
I can’t wait to show you more of this.
Light & Fragile love,
Teresa.
Malibu Photos
“Birds leaving”
Malibu,
June, 2019
I’ve been going through a couple of memory cards I have with so many beautiful photos, I don’t think I will be able to show all of them but I wanted to share these ones with the birds flying into the Malibu Sunset.
Blessed,
Best always,
Teresa.
